It has been awhile since I posted anything new,but wanted to share the excitement of the week... Ella finally was able to bring home the costume for her dance recital. Very Cute and oh so Ella! Also, a photo of Ella's latest fashion style... the scarf!

Also, while doing some cleaning today, I came across a poem that my Grandma had written and thought it was perfect to share today.

Take A Look On The Bright Side
By Lavergne Ball

We can see a shining rainbow
if we look beyond the rain
Find strength to face our losses
if we're thankful for each gain.
We can pick the lovely roses
if the thorns don't get us down
And spend so much time smiling
That we'll never think to frown
We can climb the steepest mountain
if our eyes turn toward the sun
It's really up to us to make
our world a better one.

Next update will be of Rylie... can you believe she only has 3 more weeks of Kindergarten?

Meeting the Police Officer

So, Today was a regular day in our household. After school Rylie had her Girl Scouts meeting and we had a special visitor stop in ... officer A. She was so much fun and really helped the girls feel comfortable with respecting authority.... one of the Girl Scout Laws. I think that the girls came away feeling like they could all become a police officer someday! Here are a few shots from the day - sorry not the greatest photography today!

I should also comment on Ella's fashion style for the last few days. The weather has been perfect - 70 degree days, yet Ella has insisted on wearing her winter hat. She loves to wear pigtails in her hair, but her hair is so thick that it does not stay, so she wears her hat with "pigtails". Pretty clever on her part and we get comments everywhere we go... pretty funny! I will keep documenting this... let's see how long this can last.
P.S. Notice the airplane wing pin that she had to wear as well. Funny stuff! Cute!

Busy Weekend!!

(Ok, So, I am still trying to figure out the blogging thing, sorry that the pictures may seem random. )

So, I have needed a couple of days to recover from our busy weekend of celebrations. Two days of Rylie's Birthday and then Mothers Day! What fun times.

Friday night we had all of the family over to celebrate with Rylie. Her choice for dinner was Chinese Take Out! Great choice... Easy!

Saturday, Rylie had a party with some of her special friends! The theme was a "cooking party" - the kids decorated aprons, before heading to the kitchen to create their own homemade pretzel. Kind of crazy, but I think that everyone had fun! The best part was the after party.... thanks to some good friends and my sister for this!

Sunday was Mothers Day. What a beautiful day! The weather was perfect and we had a lovely day! My favorite part was having Coffee in bed with the Sunday Newspaper... we then headed into the city to my favorite little French cafe for some brunch with my mom and sister and her husband. We then said goodbye to them and walked around the market, but quickly realized that everyone had the same idea and it was much too crowded for us, so we headed for the beach for some playtime in the sand. The girls had so much fun... I love the beach, but not a big fan of the sand... I know how can I love the beach, but not the sand? Anyway, I am working on this, because Rylie and Ella LOVE IT! They had the most fun digging in the sand and searching for treasures!

I am also including a couple pictures of the flower pots that the girls decorated for Grandma on Mothers day. Simple, but I really thought that they were cute.

Mother's Day Tea

Today was a special day at preschool for the mothers! I was treated like a queen at the Preschool Mothers Day Tea! Served Cookies and Tea and Showered with special gifts .... from my sweet Ella! The best part was seeing Ella SO EXCITED to have a party without her big sister in tow. This was a day just about Ella and Mama! Pretty special for both of us!

We have another special day tomorrow.... Someone is having a birthday!!! Today was the last day she will be 5, so only appropriate to document with a picture. Can't wait to celebrate her special day tomorrow!
